There are moments in life when you know that something must change, that the status quo is no longer tenable…especially if you are to feel the way that you want to feel, to be fully alive.
Sometimes you stay in situations long after you know that you should move on. It doesn’t matter if that’s from a job, a relationship, or a living situation. Sometimes you remain shackled to the familiar because it appears to be the key to your success. Or simply because it is familiar.
Are you nourished?
But in truth your creative soul is not being nourished. That’s why you feel a rumbling of discontent from within you. You’ve become complacent and comfortable.
Why is that a problem? Because after awhile, being comfortable leaves you feeling out of shape. It’s like sinking into the couch , transfixed by one too many Netflix series.
Your juices dry up. Dullness sets in.
It’s hard to feel desire when you are not being fed. This is important.
Because nourishing your soul is required feeding for aliveness.
Walk away. Begin here.
Challenge yourself to find what is new within you. You have changed, or this situation would not feel the way that it does. Acknowledging your changes helps you to see your next step.
A course of action can then begin to take shape.
Start to question—everything. What are you ready to end in your life? Is it time to walk away? Just as important, what has already ended and is waiting for you to take notice?
It is time. Because you want to feel alive, don’t you? Fully alive. Now.

What I am working on leaving behind is guilt. In my life I have made decisions that I feel “guilty” about. Feeling guilty about decisions helps no one, especially myself. Freeing myself from guilt will allow me to live in the present, not dwell on the past. I cannot redo decisions I made so I don’t need to dwell on them.
