“Clutter is stuck energy. The word “clutter” derives from the Middle English word “clotter,” which means to coagulate – and that’s about as stuck as you can get.” ~ Karen Kingston
Clutter…Mess…Chaos. Whether it exists on your desk, in your closet or in your thoughts, doesn’t it get in your way? Notice how it limits your ability to focus and take action. Maybe you regularly misplace your keys. Or forget to pay bills on time. Do you find yourself distracted by the things you haven’t done?
Look at where your attention goes during the day. You might close your “door” to your “mess,” but it still occupies your thoughts. You might resist being organized, but you know your energy gets stuck when the papers pile up. Stuck energy = creative system shut-down.
Could you be creating order without feeling controlled? Order is not rigidity. Order has flow. It has beauty and symmetry. Beauty nourishes your senses. When you see order you feel relaxed and ready to tackle your tasks. Your confidence holds strong.
When you clear out what is no longer necessary, you create space for something new. Constricting patterns give way to greater freedom. Your thoughts are focused and actions approached with clarity. Your energy level is high and undisturbed. When your energy has purpose, the haze dissolves and clarity shines. There is room for a new idea or solution to rise up within you.
What tasks in your life are incomplete? What needs clearing away?
Aren’t you ready to claim more freedom in your life?
“Have nothing in your houses that you do not know to be useful or believe to be beautiful.” (Remember that your body can be considered your soul’s “house”…) ~ William Morris
“Clutter-clearing is modern-day alchemy.” ~ Denise Linn
“Clutter is not just physical stuff. It’s old ideas, toxic relationships and bad habits. Clutter is anything that does not support your better self.” ~ Eleanor Brownn
“A simple life is not seeing how little we can get by with—that’s poverty—but how efficiently we can put first things first. . . . When you’re clear about your purpose and your priorities, you can painlessly discard whatever does not support these, whether it’s clutter in your cabinets or commitments on your calendar.” ~ Victoria Moran

Take a breath. Release it. Take another. Devote some dedicated time of concentration/meditation. It doesn’t need to be hours of quiet, perhaps only 15 minutes. Then allow the question to simmer within you through the weekend. Let responses bubble up into your awareness. Notice new ways of thinking, of images or ideas that arise spontaneously. Pay attention to your dreams. Let it happen. Be aware. See where it leads you next. Let yourself savor this process of receiving from yourself. Don’t judge whatever comes up, just receive it. Make notes.
You may want to share something from this process. Sharing is an important way to anchor an insight in your body. It can lead you to deeper insight. It stimulates action.
