Do you make space for celebration in your life?
Think about it for a moment. Are you comfortable being celebrated? With acknowledging your successes?
Acknowledgement is Key to Celebration
Celebrations can be an acknowledgement of life’s achievements. When you celebrate something, especially with others, it creates a landmark or milestone that marks it with a significance extending far beyond the immediate moment. Welcoming the celebration, you are filled with a rich bounty that creates new worlds of possibility. When you share in the joy of the celebrated you are uplifted with them. The energy ignites your own sense of possibility.
Celebrations are often part of ritual, something that marks a life change or event. They can be spontaneous, an in-the-moment event, unleashing energy that elevates an ordinary moment beyond itself.
There is circulation in the act of celebration. Celebration is like the breath. As you receive, you are energized and nourished. When you turn your back on receiving celebration, you’re telling the Universe you’re not interested in what has occurred or its next steps! Something within you shrivels up. Denial of the celebration impacts the flow.
Your Next Step
When you fully receive the energy of celebration, you open the door for your next step. “The importance of the celebration is not about what has been, but about what is able to come next, that which can be expanded in the next moment.” Savor what you achieve. Acknowledge your role in the achievement. Allow a pool of gratitude to fill you. Declare your willingness for more. It’s an act of Self-celebration, acknowledging the creative partnership between you and the Universe.
The holiday season is fast approaching. Celebrations with friends and family are an integral part of what makes this time so special. Remember that celebration extends beyond the holidays into everyday life. Connect with others to acknowledge and embrace triumphs big and small, theirs and your own. After all, celebrating the transitions in your life moves you to what is next. Aren’t you ready?
Reflection
Take a breath. Release it. Take another. Devote some dedicated time of concentration/meditation. It doesn’t need to be hours of quiet, perhaps only 15 minutes. Then allow the question to simmer within you. Let responses bubble up into your awareness. Notice new ways of thinking, of images or ideas that arise spontaneously. Pay attention to your dreams. Let it happen. Be aware. See where it leads you next. Let yourself savor this process of receiving from yourself. Don’t judge whatever comes up, just receive it. Make notes.
I invite you to share something from this process. Sharing anchors insights in your body. It leads you to deeper insight. It stimulates action.
