The dictionary is, perhaps, an unusual place to begin an exploration about the environment. Stay with me though.
Environment:
1. the circumstances, objects, or conditions by which one is surrounded
2. a: the complex of physical, chemical, and biotic factors (as climate, soil, and living things) that act upon an organism or an ecological community and ultimately determine its form and survival
b: the aggregate of social and cultural conditions that influence the life of an individual or community
Every living thing on the planet exists energetically and physically. This ranges from the single cell amoeba to the most complex of living systems. Each of these has an environment that allows it to grow.
In order to survive and flourish, change is constantly occurring in every moment.
Natural evolution happens through mutation. Then there is “manufactured” evolution that is shaped or influenced by human thought and action. The human attempt to influence and control everything from health to land development to personal conveniences brings unintended consequences.
All of it starts from an idea that goes on to influence the internal and the external environment.
The Unseen World Within
Last week’s Friday Focus was about exploring the essential energy held in the land. This week, consider the unseen world within you, as it manifests in the energy field of your body.
Your energy field, as light, extends out from your body. All of your thoughts, ideas and feelings are encoded in light into your cellular structure; your cells “remember” the thoughts you generate. The light is made of frequencies which vibrate at varying rates creating a harmonic that is experienced as either resonant or dissonant in your internal and external environments.
Your body is a network of sensory mechanisms. This is your feeling body. Your feeling body is the vehicle through which you receive and convey information to and from the world around you. To appreciate how this works, consider how you feel in different situations you encounter in your day.
The mental body, as thought, defines and decodes what the feeling body experiences. If you decode an experience in a way that results in an emotional response within you, you have a choice about the next step.
You can watch it from a place of being a witness, and allow it to pass through you. Or you can identify with it, creating an endless loop that codifies into a pattern, ultimately limiting your ability to respond freely.
These systems are all part of your energy field.
The Interconnected Energy Web
All of life is an interconnected energy web, a grid-like system on the planet. Your energy field connects you with this energy grid, linking you with everyone’s energy field. Through your field you impact everything and everyone around you. You draw the ideas, people and situations to you that energetically resonate with your field. Your mental body influences what you express and what you receive.
Your thoughts direct your path. One direction, centropy, opens up to expansion. The other direction, entropy, contracts your field in limitation.
Your personal realm is interwoven into the greater world. Every thought you have generates waves of energy reaching out into the grid. Is it that much of a stretch to say that your thoughts, as part of your energy field, influence events on the other side of the world?
What if it were the literal truth that peace begins with you?
Wouldn’t you want to discover more about your field of energy and your inner environment?
Time for Reflection
Take a breath. Release it. Take another. Devote some dedicated time of concentration/meditation. It doesn’t need to be hours of quiet, perhaps only 15 minutes. Then allow the question to simmer within you through the weekend. Let responses bubble up into your awareness. Notice new ways of thinking, of images or ideas that arise spontaneously. Pay attention to your dreams. Let it happen. Be aware. See where it leads you next. Let yourself savor this process of receiving from yourself. Don’t judge whatever comes up, just receive it. Make notes.
You may want to share something from this process. Sharing is an important way to anchor an insight in your body. It often leads you to deeper insight. It can stimulate action.

Thank you! Very nice post. Everything is energy, and energy connects us all.
Thanks Kristi!
I love love love this! Especially resonant is that question: What if it’s literally true that peace begins with me? That’s a beautiful takeaway. Thank you!
Love and peace,
Sue
Thank you so much, Sue! Each time I consider that question I feel it through my whole body. It carries through my day and helps me to “remember” when I forget.
