I just returned from a gorgeous trip to the southwest of France. And once again I see that no matter where I travel in the world, this truth holds firm for me:
The only journey that truly matters is the one you make inside yourself.
The Single Relationship
That personal inner journey. It’s where you get still and quiet enough to discover the single relationship that underlies every other one. This is the relationship of truth that you have with yourself…with your own inner guidance.
In order to claim your life, you have to create space first to discover it. Because it’s only when you open to the possibility that there is so much more to know of who you are, that there becomes something new to discover. Sometimes that means letting go of long-ago adopted ideas about what you were supposed to do, of who you were to be.
Even when you don’t know what’s next. Actually, my experience is that it is most often when I don’t know what;s next, that I have had the most profound realizations about myself. You know, the ones that change how you see life and your place within it.
Then I must ask you: What are you willing to do to align with your truth?
For me, this meant quite a lot. I was a psychotherapist for 25 years. It was my career and my identity. It was how I made a living!
I gave up being a therapist when I could no longer tell people that they needed to be fixed. When I saw deep lasting change happening—far deeper than in therapy sessions—but it wasn’t happening through therapy. What made me want to be a psychotherapist more than anything in the world? And then leave it behind? (You can read part of that story here.)
If I hadn’t found what I came to call my Inner Teacher, my own inner guidance, I never would have been able to do that.
And while leaving one’s career, or moving countries is not what everyone needs, you might be feeling pulled by a sensing of something calling to you to step into.
And you probably also have an inkling of the thoughts that are holding you back.
Inner Connection = Inner Guidance
Why is this so important? Because I want you to be able to connect with the wisdom, guidance and love from your own inner knowing, your internal compass. To learn how to listen to yourself instead of relying on someone outside of you.
I want you to discover more about who you really are, so that you can bring that to the world.
You are so needed! And the time is now.
A few pictures from my journey!

What a great trip it was. So many wonderful things to learn about in this world of ours. The people, the places, the food were so great. It really gives me an appreciation of all that we have in our world.
And the journey continues, Roy!
It looks like a wonderful trip. (I have a special fondness for gargoyles.) And, I agree — the inside journey is the one that matters most. Thanks.
Thanks for stopping by, Andrea!
