The threshold of a new year can act as a space to create fresh ways for you to move forward. As you cross the portal from the old year into the new, take a few moments to review the past year. The path you took may have been quite different than what you had planned. What did you learn that you can put into practice today?
Acknowledge what you have received.
This is your foundation for the coming year. As you shift your focus forward, this foundation can set a new energy in motion for you to receive your next steps.
Next steps
As this new year gets under way, some inner research will help guide you. Consider: What is the theme for you in this next year? Who are you today? Do you have a sense of anticipation?
Beyond the search
Make a decision for yourself that this year is no longer about the search. Searching is not finding. Instead, cultivate the intention to discover. Discovery is limitless. Each step leads to another.
Consider that discovery connects you with the greater knowledge within you that can fuel your creativity and provide you with direction in every moment. Pay attention to how discovery feels in your body. Let it nurture you, providing the energy for taking vision into manifestation.
Are you ready to align with the New Year to unlock life’s mystery? What do you want to create?
Reflection
Take a breath. Release it. Take another. Devote some dedicated time of concentration/meditation. It doesn’t need to be hours of quiet, perhaps only 15 minutes. Then allow the question to simmer within you. Let responses bubble up into your awareness. Notice new ways of thinking, of images or ideas that arise spontaneously. Pay attention to your dreams. Let it happen. Be aware. See where it leads you next. Let yourself savor this process of receiving from yourself. Don’t judge whatever comes up, just receive it. Make notes.
You may want to share something from this process. Sharing is often an important way to anchor an insight in your body. It leads you to deeper insight. It can stimulate action. Feel free to use this arena to share what you discover!

I love this thought, “Make a decision for yourself that 2014 is no longer about the search. Searching is not finding. Instead, cultivate the intention to discover. Discovery is limitless.” It is particularly powerful for me. I feel as if I have been on a lifetime’s search… for understanding, for guidance, for the path to self-improvement and raised consciousness. So search is a big word; it holds weight for me.
But I love the idea of a shift to discovery rather than search. Search implies an outward study, a yearning, a seeking, and at the same time a lacking of something… Discovery, on the other hand, sounds like it is all right there if you just stop and look, listen, feel inwards! And it is, of course!
Very helpful for me, thank you!
Hi Diane,
I love the awareness you’ve shared. Yes indeed, it is all right there! If I ever forget, I stop and take a breath. There is a gift in all that takes place in the simplicity and depth of a single breath that knows exactly what it needs to do within me.

What of this color, my Blue?
Did not find your take on what blue is.
Dale,
I imagine your question relates to my comment to Ann on LinkedIn. I don’t have a take on the color Blue independent of a particular context. I was referring to something she wrote on her own post. Sorry for any confusion! And welcome to The Baca Journey.
