Crystal Brown is a visionary business woman on a mission. She’s a committed activist, educator and “disrupter” who has set out to change the face of health care. Her first step of this massive mission is with Healthiest, an e-commerce company she created that is dedicated to selling only the healthiest products in the world.Healthiest Mission
Crystal feels like this is part of her life’s purpose. So much so, that she feels like she has to do this. She says, “If I can see a way to fix something that is broken, I have to do it. I don’t mind hard work. If it’s hard, it’s different than if it’s impossible.”
She wanted to create a place where people could find what they needed to take charge of their own health. The first wave of the solution has been to do the research and provide easy access to the products, so you can make great choices with confidence.
1500 Banned Chemicals
They have vetted thousands of products to find the ones they recommend. Their business model is not based on advertising revenue, freeing them to focus on what is best for the consumer. Healthiest has a list of 1500 chemicals and ingredients that they will never allow to be used in their personal care products. These are substances that have been linked to disease. The United Kingdom has already banned these substances. The US? They have banned approximately 13 chemicals from personal care products. That leaves a huge number sitting on our bathroom selves, and in our bodies. These chemicals show up in things like mascara, skin care products and deodorant.
My favorite part of the website is their list of “swaps”: products that can replace commonly used items (good-by Claritin, Colgate and Neutrogena Sunscreen!). I appreciate that they have done the research for me.
Prior to her health care mission, Crystal served as the President and Founder of Educate Our State, the largest parent lobby in education from the ground up. She’s always been a woman on a mission.
